Red Hook says TCM will introduce a new currency, Comet Shards, which can be spent at the Nomad Wagon for “trinkets with new and powerful functionality.” Darkest Dungeon will get a new faction, name to be revealed at a later date, based in the old windmill and concerned only with “spreading the all-consuming influence of the Comet’s light.” The studio says we can also expect at least one new quest type when The Color of Madness debuts next year. Now Red Hook is going all out again with The Color of Madness and they’re already giving players some information about what to expect.ĭarkest Dungeon: The Color of Madness Red Hook Studios Then came The Shieldbreaker, a much smaller add-on featuring the game’s 18th hero class, the Shieldbreaker, and a smattering of other new content. There were new trinkets, maps, Hamlet buildings and enemies, along with new bosses (one of whom was a wanderer) and Darkest Dungeon’s 17th hero class, the Flagellant. First came The Crimson Court, a massive expansion that broadened every facet of the core game. Technically, The Color of Madness is the third post-launch release for Darkest Dungeon. It’ll be a few months before fans get their hands on The Color of Madness, but it sounds like the Darkest Dungeon team has plenty of new ideas for the game’s next round of downloadable content. The second major Darkest Dungeon expansion heads to PC and consoles in 2018, Red Hook Studios announced this week, bringing new enemies, quests and trinkets to one of the hardest dungeon crawlers we’ve ever encountered.
